The house

The harbour master's house, with a long view of the sea

The harbour master once watched the boats from these windows. Now the house has eight guest rooms, a breakfast room and a small bar by the stairs.

Five rooms look out to sea. Three look over the garden and the orchard. The two ground-floor rooms have step-free access and welcome dogs.

Mornings and evenings

Breakfast is cooked in the house each morning

We serve breakfast from 8:00 to 10:00 at the long table by the window. Tell us what you can and cannot eat, and we will plan around it.

The honesty bar is open all evening

Pour a drink, write it in the book and settle up when you leave. There is local cider, a few good wines, cordials and hot chocolate for cold nights.

The village

Gullhaven is small, with a working harbour

Fishing boats still come in each morning. There is a bakery, a fish hut and a pub on the quay, and a sandy cove down the path.

  • Walks from the door

The coast path runs past our gate. Go north to the headland or south to the cove.

  • Swims at high water

Steps below the house go straight into the sea. Check the tide and swim when it is in.

  • Something for rainy days

A small museum of the harbour, a pottery with drop-in classes and the pub fire.
